Filler Treatment

On our face, there are two types of subcutaneous fat: youthful fat and fat from weight gain. As we age, youthful fat tends to shrink, while fat from weight gain accumulates, making the face appear older, more tired, and saggy. Exercise can help reduce excess fat, but it cannot restore youthful fat like it was in our younger years.

Filler is a substance used to replace lost youthful fat or to enhance the facial structure, providing a more balanced and proportionate appearance. There are various types of fillers, but the only legally approved filler in Thailand is Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is biodegradable and gradually breaks down after injection within 6 months to 2 years, depending on the product’s version and brand.

Moreover, different types of HA fillers have unique properties, such as firmness, dispersion, elasticity, and water retention ability. Therefore, choosing the right type of HA filler is crucial to achieving the desired results.

The risks of filler injections arise when the filler material compresses or blocks blood vessels, leading to restricted blood flow to certain areas. If a vessel that supplies the retina becomes blocked, it can even result in blindness. Therefore, filler injections must be performed by a skilled and experienced doctor who uses advanced injection techniques to ensure both effective results and patient safety.
