PROSTHODONTICS

Restoration of lost teeth and correction of fragile or broken teeth by creating tooth-like materials to replace them for chewing function or aesthetics. This includes dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, fillings with tooth-colored resin materials, or amalgam.

Metal Free Crown & Bridge (Ceramic Crowns and Bridges without Metal)

A crown is needed when a tooth is severely damaged, such as from extensive decay, severe cracks, fractures, or chips, making fillings insufficient. Crowns restore the tooth to its normal function or improve its appearance.

A dental bridge is used to replace missing teeth after extraction. It is a fixed prosthesis that does not require removal and looks natural, without hooks or gum plates like removable dentures.

Crowns and bridges come in all-metal, metal-ceramic, or all-ceramic types. At Medtopia Holistic Dentistry, we use only all-ceramic crowns and bridges. In the past, all-ceramic restorations were less durable and required metal support. Nowadays, strong and durable ceramics are used for chewing, making all-ceramic crowns more popular and widely used.

All-ceramic crowns allow light to pass through and reflect similarly to natural teeth, giving them a more natural and dimensional appearance compared to metal-ceramic crowns. They do not have dark edges and eliminate concerns about the toxicity of heavy metals or their effects on the body.

One Day Crown

Normally, crown procedures are complex, involving preparation of the damaged area, taking impressions for lab fabrication, and multiple visits. Patients usually need at least two visits for a crown. Medtopia Holistic Dentistry uses the latest Digital Dentistry Workflow with the Cerec® CAD/CAM system, which allows natural-looking crowns to be made in just one day. Patients do not need temporary crowns or multiple visits, saving time and avoiding issues related to temporary crowns.

Removable Denture

Removable dentures replace missing teeth and can be inserted and removed from the mouth. Although getting used to dentures takes time and they cannot feel exactly like natural teeth, modern dentures are more natural-looking and comfortable than before. They are custom-made in dental labs based on impressions taken by dentists.

There are two types of removable dentures: full dentures and partial dentures.
